Brand Photography for Kondition Fitness Studio
THE VISION:
When Kondition reached out about refreshing their visuals for their website and social media, I was thrilled. For those who don’t know, Kondition is a boutique gym in the heart of Boulder with an inclusive approach to fitness, often highlighting their diverse (primarily women-led) clientele across a wide age range.
The studio breaks most norms of what a gym “should” be: it’s beautiful, clean, and their staff rivals the bedside manner of Chick-fil-A. They offer a range of classes—from traditional modalities like strength and cycle to more adventurous formats like dance and myofascial—each led by top-notch instructors who provide one-on-one attention.
THE STRATEGY:
Before we ever picked up a camera, we talked through:
Goals for what they wanted highlighted across instructors, members, and key service offerings
Styling and casting notes
Where the images would live (website, social media, and potential print ads)
Management emphasized the importance of imagery that evokes the feeling: “I feel safe here. I belong.” They wanted to capture the warmth of a community that goes beyond cliques.
Additionally, one of the biggest appeals of a boutique gym like Kondition (compared to a big box gym) is the level of personal attention you receive in group fitness settings. Instructors regularly provide one-on-one support, ensuring members feel confident and cared for throughout class. Replicating that feeling visually was a top priority.
From there, we landed on three main brand pillars:
Strong over aggressive
Genuine smiles and movement over rigid posing
Warm and inviting over intense
THE EXECUTION:
We invited member participation because it was essential to showcase the real people who make up Kondition—spanning different ages, sizes, and fitness levels. We also encouraged participants to show up as themselves. No heavy makeup. No overly fitted, flashy outfits.
The result? People who felt comfortable in their own skin—ready to move, connect, and have fun.
This is what a brand shoot can look like when it’s rooted in intention. Branding isn’t just for the corporate world. It’s for boutique brands, entrepreneurs, and creatives—anyone who needs imagery that supports a specific vision or project.
If you have a niche need or a creative concept you’ve been sitting on, I’d love to hear about it. Whether you need help defining your look, planning a rebrand, or shaping something that doesn’t neatly fit into a category, we can create visuals that feel true to you.
